This is beyond sickening. When did "For the People" change to the below?
Senators Who Voted To Protect Oil Tax Breaks Received $23,582,500 From Big Oil:
In a 51-47 vote, 43 Senate Republicans and four Democrats filibustered to protect $24 billion in tax breaks for Big Oil. Although a majority voted for Sen. Robert Menendez’s (D-NJ) bill, it fell short of the 60 needed. The only two Republicans to break rank were Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and retiring Sen. Olympia Snowe. To reade more:

It began long ago.
ReplyDeleteIt was enhanced when politicians said they would "run the country like a business" They do.
While the vote was lopsided, and Republicans rake in hugely more from big biz, that is beginning to blur. Obama's links to Goldman Sachs, indeed, the Federal Government's links/revolving door with Goldman and others, damn near cost us the country a few years ago. Anyone in Jail? Nope.
Our government is owned, but not by us. Dwight Eisenhower told us we were cruising for this end, and now it is upon us.
Good luck getting it back. The coming election is between two corporatists, one owned, the other a titan of that world.
